Epitope는 항체(Antibody)에 의해 인식되는 구조인 항원결정부이다. 항원(Antigen) 분자의 어느 위치(Amino acid sequence)에서 항체와 결합하는지 알아보기 위해 분자를 여러가지 방법으로 단편화 하여 조사하는 방법이다. Epitope Mapping 분석방법은 Covalent labeling, Cross Link, Immuno-affinity peptide screening 법을 통해 Epitope 위치를 확인한다. 3 가지 각자 다른 분석을 통해 Epitope region을 확인한다. 항체 단백질의 Linear type 과 Conformational type 모두 확인 가능한 방법이다.
